U20 Africa Cup of Nations: Senegal trounce Burkina Faso 5-1

Senegal U-20 national team has had a solid showing in their CAN group matches in Niger, beating Burkina Faso 5-1 on Saturday. Amadou Dia’s double, and goals from Samba Diallo, Youssouph Badji and Ousseynou Niang secured the tally against Burkina Faso who already exited the tournament, following their defeats against Ghana and Mali.The Young Lions had already qualified for the semi-finals, following their 2-0 victory over Ghana in their second day match. In the other group match, Mali beat Ghana 1-0 to complete the last four composed by Senegal, Nigeria and South Africa.Senegal will then challenge South Africa on Wednesday, February 13at 18h, while Nigeria will have Mali in the other semi-final the same day at 15:30.

The four teams will represent Africa at the U 20 World Cup to be hosted by Poland from 23 May to 15 June 2019
