Senegal on Saturday beat their Guinean conterpart 1-0 in their first leg encounter of the African Nations Championship qualifiers played at Lat Dior Stadium in Thiés.
The lone goal of the game was scored by Assane MBodji in the 86th , thanks to his well-wound shot that gave no chance to Guinean goalkeeper Moussa Camara.
This victory helps the Lions to have the adventage before their trip to Guinea. Coach Serigne Saliou Dia Boys need only a draw in the the return leg which will be play in three weeks in Conakry to qualify for the CHAN 2020 , after an absence of eight years.
The African Nations Championship (CHAN) is a tournament in which the national teams exclusively feature players who ply their trade in the domestic league of their home country. It is held every other years and brings together 16 teams. The 2020 edition will be hosted by Cameroun.
